Watercolor
The market for watercolors is more limited than that of oils and acrylics because over time they can fade. This is especially true if the painting is not handled correctly. A watercolor should be framed under protective glass and displayed under low light. However, my watercolors are less likely to fade because I build up layers upon layers of color. The results, while more vivid than traditional watercolors, still maintain a degree of softness that can make paintings in this medium so appealing. I liken my watercolors to finely detailed pastels.
I greatly enjoy painting in watercolor and at times find myself working in this medium purely for my own pleasure despite the medium’s more limited marketability.
