It has been a long time between updates. Covid and social distancing put quite the damper on my painting for some time, and was at least partly responsible for the permanent closing of one of my galleries. But happily 2023 has found me enjoying a huge uptick in interest and in sales. I also see my skills continue to improve. I am now working almost entirely on an easel versus a table resulting in an improvement in the overall compositional strength of my pieces as well as an increasing boldness of paint stroke (while still maintaining the fine detail I am known for.)
New paintings have been added to "Available Work" and "Archival". I will be part of a group show "As Our World Turns" at Tree's Place from June 27th to July 9th. Unfortunately today's social distancing concerns have put the damper on any kind of formal opening, but the gallery should be open and several new paintings of mine will be on view. Do call ahead if you have any questions or concerns, and as always don't forget to wear your best "going out" masks!
New paintings have been added to "Available Work". I will be part of a three artist show at Tree's Place, alongside artists Gary Akers and Michael Compton, opening August 30th. Hope to see you there!
A number of new paintings have been added, both to "Available Work" and to "Archival". Looking forward to a good turnout at my summer show "Town and Country" at Tree's Place, alongside artists Marieluise Hutchinson and Michael Compton, opening June 30th.
A few new paintings have been added to "Available Work".
I have updated my website with some recent work. Some of the pieces are available at my galleries, where indicated. A few on my front page are still on the drying rack and subject to some tweaking before all is said and done. I find myself painting quite well of late, partly because I no longer keep the news on in the background while working. I am all the happier for it too!
My website has been updated with new work and a few additional bells and whistles!
Website updated with some new work from my May 2015 Solo Show at Tree's Place. Many thanks to those of you who attended. It was a good turnout!
My website has been updated with new work and a slightly new look. I am also pleased to note that I was recently accepted as an Artist Member of the Marblehead Arts Association. Please stop by if you are ever in the area. They have a gorgeous 18th century mansion for their exclusive use, with ample well lit space for the display of work. I will have a few nautically themed pieces hanging in their New Member Show, running January 1oth to February 8th, and opening January 11th from 2:00 - 4:00, 8 Hooper Street, in the center of historic Marblehead. (781) 631-2608, www.Marbleheadarts.org.
I will be having another solo show at Tree's Place in Orleans, MA this Fall. Opening Saturday, October 11th, it will be up for two weeks. Opening reception (meet the artist!!) on Saturday from 5:00 to 7:00. Please come if you can. I have just added a few of the paintings included in my upcoming show to my collection of recent work (link above.)
My new website is launched! I hope the new site will be far easier to manage than previously. Please check back for regular updates and to see my most recent work.
Many thanks to all who attended the opening of my recent solo show at Tree's Place in Orleans or managed a peek in the subsequent weeks. And thanks to Tree's for organizing all of the stuff that we artists don't want to have to think about or deal with.
The preview article in American Art Collector to accompany my upcoming solo show at Tree's Place Gallery is out. Please read about the show in "Roderick O'Flaherty: Urban Oasis" in their October 2013 issue.
